the Adamovic 6 String Bass

I’d like to thank John Fox Bass and Nikola Adamovic for working together to get this wonderful instrument into my hands. It’s the result of a long process of refining exactly what I’m looking for in a bass.
The woods weren’t chosen randomly. They’re the product of more than two decades of experimenting with tonewoods across many custom instruments, gradually zeroing in on the combination that produces the tone and dynamic response I prefer most.
This bass features a walnut body, koa top, ebony fingerboard, and a laminated neck of maple, purpleheart, and ash. Together they produce a voice that immediately stands out: punchy and articulate with a piano-like attack, while still retaining a glassy, clear high end that never feels brittle.
The instrument is beautifully balanced and represents the highest level of lutherie craftsmanship. Every detail reflects thoughtful execution.
The fretwork, in particular, is among the best I’ve seen anywhere in the industry. It allows the bass to be set up with insanely low action while still remaining clean and controlled across the entire fingerboard.
The neck profile deserves special mention. It isn’t ultra-thin—something I’ve found can lead to fatigue during longer sessions—but instead lands in that rare “just right” territory. It fills the hand comfortably, providing stability and leverage while eliminating the fatigue I often experience with thinner neck designs.
In short, this instrument isn’t just visually striking; it’s the culmination of years of tonal exploration and design preferences coming together in one beautifully executed bass.
